A Cedar Shake Roof Restoration is a complete restoration of shakes to original golden-brown color via a 2-day process: - Day 1 — Comprehensive cleaning. - Day 2 — Application of Red Label Penofin to shakes. In more detail, the restoration process entails the following steps: 1 - Thorough debris removal via extension poles, blowers, and high water-volume hose, where necessary. 2 - Application of sodium percarbonate solution, killing organic growth and lifting deadwood fiber without attacking lignin. 3 - Light power washing via manual mounting, mobile tower, or extension poles to remove residual and loosened organic growth from roof. 4 - (Day 2) Conditional on moisture meter reading below 15% and permitting weather, Red Label Penofin is thoroughly applied to all shakes, restoring roof to original, rich, golden-brown appearance. Quote line item includes full cost of chemical, protective oil, and all other materials.

*If a shake roof has been neglected for many years and growth is denser on the shakes, more thorough measures (including light pressure washing) may be necessary to mechanically remove organic growth. The most thorough cedar shake cleaning option, deep cleaning entails the following steps: 1 - Thorough debris removal from roof. 2 - Application of sodium percarbonate solution, killing organic growth and lifting deadwood fiber without attacking lignin. 3 - Light power washing via manual mounting, mobile tower, or extension poles to remove residual and loosened organic growth from roof. Devoid of organic growth, resulting exposed shakes have brightest possible appearance and are adequately prepared for Penofin application ("Restoration") if desired.

For acrylic, polyester, nylon, or vinyl fabric awnings with mildew or organic growth on/in them, a light mix of sodium hypochlorite may be used, following an initial spot test.
